Description

We are transitioning exclusively to Batson guides for this series, as they continue to provide excellent products and service to the rod-building community!

These are Batson running guides:  Two-Footed snake guides and Single-Footed snake guides.  These are the type of guides rod-builders have trusted for decades.

You have Two options available:  Forecast & Alps.

The Alps Guides are made from a higher grade of Stainless Steel (SS316) and feature:

  1. Pre-ground feet
  2. Zero-Ring Fail Proof Design
  3. Extreme Corrosion Resistance
  4. ss316 Stainless Steel – excellent quality substrate
  5. Available in TiChrome PVD (gunsmoke) and silver

The Forecast Guides are made from Stainless Steel (SS304) and feature:

  1. Pre-ground feet
  2. Zero-Ring Fail Proof Design
  3. Superb Corrosion Resistance
  4. ss304 Stainless Steel
  5. Available in black and silver

The silver Forecast Guides are polished.

Forecast Guides can be found here.

Personally speaking, I can tell you I’ve fished the SS304 guides (and many, many times Batson blanks as well) in Ontario, Canada, on the Madison/Big Hole/Ruby/etc. and saltwater fishing in Massachusetts, Belize, Florida (before I even owned H&H) and Mexico. They’ve even been fished in the Jordan River.  These guides have been fished in half-zillion streams in Pennsylvania and with all that … I’ve never experienced a guide failure (or a broken blank for that matter) while using these SS304 guides. I’ve also never encountered any rust! Naturally, after fishing in saltwater, we meticulously clean our equipment—it’s the first task we undertake once we’ve tipped the guide, who will sometimes do it for us.
