Lifetime Warranty Policy

Coverage

All Hook & Hackle “Xi,” “X2i,” and “OEM” series fly rod blanks are covered by a lifetime unlimited warranty. All warranty claims on these blanks should be made directly to The Hook & Hackle Company and apply only to the intended use of the rod blank—without any modification of length, size, or nature.

All Hook & Hackle “Xi” Spinning Rod Blanks included in our “Kit-in-a-Box” series are also covered by this lifetime unlimited warranty. Claims should be made directly to us and apply only to proper, unmodified use of the blank.

Warranty Process

For warranty claims, we typically provide a new replacement blank. In some cases, we may ask that all sections be returned so we can ensure proper fitting of the replacement part. Please remove and retain any guides from the broken section that you may need to complete your repair.

While there is no charge for the replacement blank or section, a $50 postage and handling fee is required with your warranty submission.

Or better yet—give us a call before sending anything back. We may be able to ship your replacement after collecting the $50 replacement fee. If additional postage applies, it will not exceed $15 USD. International orders will be charged actual shipping costs.

If a blank has been discontinued, we reserve the right to substitute a comparable model from our current inventory if the original is no longer available.

For shipments beyond the USA or Canada, additional international postage will be determined and added to the fee.

Warranty Limitations

Our definition of a manufacturing defect does not include breakage resulting from the following (or similar) causes:

  • Slamming the rod in a car, house, or cabin door

  • Jamming the rod tip into the ground or another immovable object

  • Cracking the rod against tree limbs, gunwales, pets, or other obstacles

  • Using the rod as a step to enter or exit a boat, floatplane, or helicopter

  • High-sticking or applying excessive pressure when snagged or fighting a fish

  • Any activity succeeding shouting the words, “Hey dude, watch this!”

  • Any other form of misuse, abuse, or normal “wear and tear”

We also cannot cover damage caused by third-party workmanship during the assembly of a finished rod.
The warranty is void if the recommended line rating is exceeded or if the finish of the blank is altered.

This warranty is limited to the blank only.
